elementary school

kindergarten - 6th grade

The CCS Elementary division consists of Grades K5 - 6. The core subjects include Bible, Mathematics, English/ Language Arts, Science and History. The elementary division is under the direction of Mrs. Tonya Burns.

Calvary elementary students are engaged in activities designed to cultivate their spiritual, cognitive, physical and social development. These co-curricular activities are developmentally-appropriate and individualized, striving to prepare your child to impact the world for Christ.

Elementary activities

To encourage cognitive development, our students are challenged in a variety of classes, including their core content classes as well as special classes. This wide variety of classes encourages experimental learning and individualized instruction. Our smaller class sizes ensure your child gets the attention he or she deserves. Your child may also participate in a variety of curricular activities, including Accelerated Reader, Academic Clubs, Lego Robotics and Sixth Grade Cougar Council.

character development

Academics isn't the only thing that Calvary strives toward. Integrated in every class and activity at CCS, is a concentrated aim to build young men and women of strong character. Christian character is emphasized through our character education program, which focuses on monthly character traits. Students can take part in a variety of character related activities and service projects both in and out of the classroom. Our graduating sixth graders not only can prove their academic performance, but have grown into young men and women of integrity.

elementary intervention

The CCS Intervention Specialist is purposed for students with a diagnosed learning difference and/or behavioral need. That diagnosis must be given by a licensed professional. The CCS Intervention Specialist is not a tutor. CCS does not promise that we will be able to meet all the learning needs of any said child. With the following process, an evaluation and a clear academic/behavioral assessment is available to the parent and the school.

It is to be noted that a student who comes to CCS having a current diagnosed learning or behavioral need (current diagnoses must be within the last 3 years) and has been receiving accommodations in their current educational institution, will bypass the following procedure. With provided paperwork, the CCS Intervention Specialist will communicate with the parents, teachers and administration how the administered intervention program can proceed.
